Look What's Blooming at Blossom Park!

Students of EcoSchools
As part of our EcoSchools initiative, Blossom Park is excited to be starting the green bin program in our classrooms
and school this fall.

Tom Thistle, Environmental Management Coordinator for the OCDSB paid us a visit to talk about the importance of recycling, composting
and waste diversion. Ask your child how you can go green at home as well!

How Parents Can Support Blossom Park P.S. (English) (Arabic)
You are an important partner in your child’s education, alongside teachers, principals, support staff, administrators, and trustees. By being involved, you encourage good learning habits and support your child in making choices about his or her future. Studies show that when parents get involved in learning, students do better in school.

Tips for Parents of Grade 8 Students - High School Courses and Choices
Entering high school is an important time in your child’s education. Over the next month, our secondary schools will be hosting open house nights for students and families to learn more about program offerings and high school. Check the school website for dates and times. Planning for high school is an exciting time, this tip sheet is a good reference point to start having those conversations. This sheet is available in many languages.

Middle French Immersion - Grade 4 - Registration
If your child has completed the grade 3 English/Core French Program, you can choose to enter the Middle French Immersion Program. All subjects are generally taught in French in grades 4, 5, and 6, except for English Language Arts and Math. After successful completion through to the end of secondary school, your child will be able to participate easily in conversation, take post secondary courses in French, and live and work in a French-speaking community. Learn more here.

When students understand mathematics, they are equipped with knowledge they can bring to every aspect of their lives. Inspiring Your Child to Learn and Love Math is a tool kit for parents. It provides modules with simple, but effective methods and materials for parents. It shows you how to get involved in your children's learning, and offers guidance for working with students of different ages.
This Parent Tool Kit was developed by experts in mathematics education, with input and advice from parents and students. When families and educators join forces, students of all ages can experience greater success in their learning.
